Problem
Cloud skills on paper are not the same as cloud skills in practice. The goal was to move beyond theory and build real, working infrastructure provisioning compute, containers, storage, and delivery pipelines end-to-end.
Approach
A self-directed, curriculum-driven programme: learn the architecture pattern, then implement it hands-on. Every topic from EC2 instances to CI/CD pipelines to infrastructure automation was exercised through project work rather than watched.
Challenges
The core challenge was shifting from configuring a single server to thinking in systems networking, IAM boundaries, repeatable automation, and pipelines that behave the same way every time they run.
